Welcome
I am so happy you are here!
First of all, I would like to thank you for dedicating so much of your time, energy, and heart to your congregation, the UUA, and to your future minister. Regardless of your candidate selection, I am grateful for the love that you have so generously given this important work. I wish you much joy, love, laughter, and growth in this next life phase of your congregation!
Now for me. ;)
Since actively pursuing my ministerial call over the last 6 years, I have loved every position that I have held: director of religious education, teacher for incarcerated women, hospital chaplain, nonprofit leader, and parish minister. However, during this time, parish ministry has captured my heart and my imagination, unwilling to let go.
I saw the UUA Ministerial Fellowshiping Committee (MFC) December 1 and received a Category 1 for preliminary fellowship (meaning no required contingencies for fellowship). Once I complete my congregational internship and Master of Divinity degree in May 2018, I will be able to start a full-time ministry position and am thrilled at the hope of leading your congregation.
As for the particulars, I am looking for a position as sole minister or senior minister of a ministry team. Because I have a broad range of experience at different sized churches (from the 100-person congregation that introduced me to Unitarian Universalism to the 600-adult/300-children and youth congregation I currently serve), the size of the congregation does not matter to me as much as the spirit of the members and staff. Are you willing to commit to authenticity, the hard and often messy work of spiritual transformation, and the practices of humility, forgiveness, and humor? Yes? Me too. Hooray!
I believe we all have important ministries to share with the world. My job as your minister is to create an environment where all of them can thrive individually and create something magical together-- magic that can transform each of us and our greater world.
I am excited to see how love will transform us!
With MUCH gratitude,
Kellie
