Unity Temple Monthly Newsletter Columns

My internship congregation, Unity Temple Unitarian Universalist Congregation, participates in the theme-based small group ministry program called Soul Matters. At Unity, we call our program Soul Connections. Each month, the ministers explore the Soul Connections themes in our columns. I have included downloadable PDF copies of all 11 of my 2017 columns (July and August are a shared issue).

Social Media

Because of my desire to connect with congregants in different ways, I also explore our Soul Connections themes through my Twitter tweets (for example, #hope @utuuc). My Twitter account automatically reposts my tweets to Facebook so this allows me to connect with our congregants in multiple ways. Because not everyone likes social media, I always include 1-3 of my favorite tweets with my newsletter column (see above).

In addition to my Soul Connections posts, I use my Twitter and Facebook accounts as part of my public ministry, posting social justice actions, memes, and articles. As a white faith leader, I use social media specifically to spread information on systemic racism and raise the voices of black and multiracial movement leaders. Finally, I use my accounts to connect my congregants to the Unitarian Universalist prophets of today.

If you would like to follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you'll find social media links at the bottom of each page that will take you directly to my accounts. Please tweet or post to introduce yourself!
